Supplier Qualification and Inspection
Sheet Metal Quality Control That Follows the Part from Material to Shipment
Quality is easiest to control when it is built into the manufacturing route instead of inspected only at the end.
At Hengtai Leading Technology, we use staged inspection to verify material, first-off parts, in-process characteristics and final assemblies according to the drawing and agreed quality requirements.
Discuss Quality Requirements
Our Quality Gates
| Gate | What We Check | Typical Evidence |
|---|---|---|
| Incoming / IQC | Material grade, thickness, condition and required documentation. | Material certificate or receiving record when specified. |
| First Article | Key dimensions, bends, features and assembly interfaces before the run continues. | FAI or first-piece record where required. |
| In-Process / IPQC | Process-sensitive dimensions, hardware, weld condition and repeatability. | Operator / inspector records according to the control plan. |
| Final / OQC | Drawing compliance, appearance, quantity, assembly completeness and packaging. | Final inspection record or COC when agreed. |
We Inspect to the Drawing and Clarify the Drawing Before Production
Inspection cannot compensate for unclear engineering requirements. During quoting and DFM review, we ask customers to identify critical dimensions, datums, cosmetic surfaces, finish requirements, approved materials and functional interfaces. This makes the inspection plan more useful and avoids treating every dimension as equally critical.
Dimensional Inspection Equipment
Our current quality capability includes CMM measurement, optical projectors, standard gauges and dimensional inspection tools, with additional equipment such as hardness and gloss measurement used where relevant to the agreed requirement.
The measurement method is selected according to feature type, tolerance and part size.

Quality Risks by Manufacturing Process
Laser Cutting
For laser-cut parts, we pay attention to contour dimensions, hole size and position, edge condition, material traceability and features that will affect downstream forming.
Bending
For CNC-formed parts, bend angle, flange position, orientation, springback and the relationship between formed features are verified according to the drawing.
Welding
For welded assemblies, the key risk is often geometry rather than weld appearance alone. Fixtures, weld sequence and final dimensional checks are planned around the critical assembly interfaces.
Finishing and Assembly
For coated or assembled components, we review finish condition, masking, hardware presence, door or panel fit, visible surfaces and packaging protection according to the project requirements.
Documentation for Supplier Qualification
Material certificates when specified.
First Article Inspection reports for agreed programs.
Dimensional inspection records.
Certificates of conformity where required.
Part identification and revision traceability according to the project plan.
Customer-specific inspection forms when agreed before production.
Quality Control for Repeat Production
Repeat production creates a different challenge from a one-time prototype: process drift, operator variation, material changes and revision confusion can accumulate over time. Our contract manufacturing approach therefore combines production and quality planning so the accepted first build becomes the reference for recurring orders.
A Professional Quality Discussion Starts Before the PO
If your organization has an inspection plan, supplier quality manual, special characteristic system or documentation package, send it with the RFQ. We would rather price the real quality scope at the beginning than discover it after production starts.
Send Us Your Drawing and Quality Requirements
Tell us which characteristics are critical, what documentation you need and how the part is used. We will review whether the inspection plan matches our process capability before quoting.
Discuss Quality RequirementsFrequently Asked Questions
Can you provide FAI reports?
Yes, for projects where FAI is agreed as part of the quality scope. Please send your required format or acceptance criteria with the RFQ.
Do you provide material certificates?
Material certificates can be provided when specified and available for the material route. Define the documentation requirement during quotation.
Can you use our inspection template?
For suitable programs, yes. We review customer-specific inspection forms before production so the measurement method and reporting effort are clear.
