Large-format Fabrication
Large Sheet Metal Fabrication for Cabinets, Frames and Equipment Structures
Large parts create different manufacturing problems from small sheet metal components. A panel can be simple in CAD but difficult to keep flat. A long bend can amplify material variation. A welded frame can be strong but still fail assembly because heat distortion moves the mounting points.
At Hengtai Leading Technology, we manufacture large-format sheet metal parts and assemblies for industrial equipment, electrical systems, automation, energy, data infrastructure and other OEM applications.

Our Large-Format Manufacturing Envelope
| Capability | Current Factory Capacity | Typical Use |
|---|---|---|
| Fiber laser cutting | Up to 12 kW; sheet size up to 4000 × 2000 mm | Large panels, plates, frame components and thick sections. |
| CNC bending | Five press brakes; up to 200T and 4000 mm bend length | Long channels, cabinet panels, structural returns and equipment covers. |
| Welding | 24+ welding stations; TIG, MIG, laser and spot welding | Large frames, weldments, cabinets and reinforced structures. |
| Powder coating | In-house line up to 6 m | Large exterior panels, cabinets and equipment structures. |
| Assembly | Mechanical and selected electromechanical assembly | Doors, panels, hardware, internal brackets and finished subassemblies. |
Actual manufacturability depends on material, thickness, bend sequence, tooling access and part geometry. We confirm the process route from the drawing rather than using a single maximum dimension as a guarantee for every design.
Large Panels: Flatness Matters After Every Operation
Large sheet metal panels may move during cutting, bending, welding and finishing. Perforations, large cutouts and uneven heat input can increase distortion. We review stiffening bends, return flanges, reinforcement, datum strategy and the sequence of operations so the part remains practical to inspect and assemble.
For panel-specific requirements, see our custom sheet metal panels capability.
Control the datums first
Flatness is useful only when the interfaces that control the final assembly are protected through cutting, forming, welding and coating.
Large Frames and Weldments
A large welded structure must be checked as an assembly. We plan weld sequence, fixture points and measurement references around critical interfaces. Where possible, we protect functional datums and mounting locations from unnecessary heat input. Our sheet metal frames page and weldments page show the types of structural components we support.
Large Cabinets and Enclosures
Floor-standing equipment, power distribution systems and industrial machinery often need large cabinets with doors, internal mounting plates, removable panels and heavy installed components. We support large electrical enclosures and custom sheet metal cabinets with integrated bending, welding, hardware and coating.
DFM for Oversized Parts
Confirm whether the flat pattern fits the cutting and bending envelope.
Check bend orientation and whether tooling can reach every feature.
Define where flatness and squareness are functionally critical.
Use reinforcement only where it adds stiffness or protects an interface.
Plan lifting, handling and fixture points for large welded assemblies.
Consider powder-coating racks, drainage and hanging points before finishing.
Protect cosmetic faces during internal transfer and export packaging.
Large Part Does Not Mean Loose Tolerance Everywhere
Professional large-part drawings usually contain a mix of critical and non-critical dimensions. We recommend identifying the datums that control installation—mounting holes, rails, door interfaces, equipment pads or mating edges—so inspection effort is concentrated where the assembly depends on it.
Send Us the Overall Dimensions and Drawing
For a fast capability check, send the 2D/3D files, material, thickness, finish, overall dimensions and critical assembly interfaces. We will confirm the practical manufacturing route before quoting.
Check Large-Part CapabilityFrequently Asked Questions
What is your maximum bending length?
Our CNC press-brake capability reaches 4000 mm. The feasible part length and bend sequence still depend on geometry, material, thickness and tooling access.
Can you powder coat large assemblies?
We operate an in-house powder-coating line up to 6 m. We review hanging, masking and overall geometry before confirming the finishing route.
Can you fabricate large welded frames?
Yes. We manufacture custom frames and weldments and plan fixtures, sequence and inspection around the critical assembly geometry.
